Submit Claims Faster, Without Leaving the OPENLANE Mobile App
In wholesale, speed matters. From sourcing inventory to getting vehicles frontline-ready, every extra step costs valuable time.
That’s especially true when something isn’t right with a purchase.
With Mobile Arbitration, dealers can now submit vehicle arbitration claims directly through the OPENLANE mobile app, making it easier to report issues, upload supporting evidence, and start the resolution process.
How to submit a vehicle arbitration claim using the OPENLANE mobile app
When you discover an issue with a recently purchased vehicle, time matters. The sooner you can document the issue and submit your claim, the sooner the arbitration team can begin reviewing it.
With the latest update to the OPENLANE mobile app, the entire submission process happens in one place.
How to submit a claim:
- Open your Purchase History
- Select the vehicle
- Tap “Start Vehicle Arbitration”
- Choose the appropriate claim reason
- Add details about the issue
- Upload photos, videos or supporting documents
- Review and submit your claim
No switching devices. No jumping between platforms. No waiting until you’re back at your desk.
Capture evidence when it matters most
One of the biggest advantages of submitting an arbitration claim from your phone is the ability to document an issue the moment you find it.
Need to photograph damage? Just open your camera.
Need to record a short video? Capture it immediately.
Need to attach an inspection document or other supporting file? Upload it directly from your device.
Instead of emailing yourself photos or transferring files later, everything can be included in the initial submission. That means the arbitration team receives more complete information upfront, helping reduce unnecessary follow-up requests and keeping your claim moving.
Spend more time buying and selling.
Post-sale can be one of the most time-consuming parts of the wholesale buying experience as it often requires extra steps, additional devices and manual back-and-forth.
Mobile Arbitration removes much of that friction by allowing dealers to complete the same arbitration process from wherever they are. The policies, eligibility requirements and review process remain the same. The experience is simply more convenient.
For dealers, that means:
- Faster claim submission
- Easier evidence collection
- Better visibility into the submission process
- Fewer requests for additional documentation
- A smoother experience without switching between desktop and mobile
By making vehicle arbitration part of the mobile workflow, OPENLANE is helping dealers spend less time managing administrative tasks and more time running their business.
It’s another step toward making the entire post-sale experience simpler—from purchase history to arbitration and beyond—with tools designed around how dealers actually work every day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to use the mobile app to submit an arbitration claim?
No. You can still submit arbitration claims through the existing web experience. Mobile Arbitration simply gives you a faster, more convenient option when you’re already on your phone.
What types of evidence can I upload?
For the best experience, include clear photos of the issue, videos when movement or sound is relevant, and any inspection reports or supporting documents available. Providing complete evidence upfront can help reduce follow-up requests and keep your claim moving.
What happens after I submit my claim?
Once your claim is submitted, it is routed to the OPENLANE Arbitration team for review under the existing arbitration process. The team will review your submission and contact you regarding next steps if needed.
Why is it important to include supporting evidence?
Providing clear, complete evidence during your initial submission helps the Arbitration team understand the issue more quickly and may reduce delays caused by requests for additional information.
When should I file an arbitration claim?
Dealers must submit a claim within a specific time window, depending on the level of protections they have purchased. If an extended protection was purchased, claims need to be filled within 14 days of purchasing the vehicle. Filing early and including complete documentation helps the Arbitration team begin reviewing your case sooner, helping you get back to focusing on retail. For eligibility requirements, refer to the OPENLANE Arbitration Policy.
