Nick Kelly: Growth Marketing Manager

Nick’s been with OPENLANE since June of 2022 working as a product and growth marketer for our US Marketplace. He seeks to identify and understand the challenges our customers are facing, partners with Product and Sales to find a solution, and then strategizes the best way to share the updates with our customers.

Aris Vinsant: Group Product Manager

Starting at OPENLANE in 2020 as an intern, Aris is now the Group Product Manager for Inventory in the US Marketplace. In this role, he coordinates software releases across OPENLANE’s inspections and arbitration technology platforms to ensure they are meeting the needs of our customers.

Q&A

What’s your number one tip for new users to get the most out of the OPENLANE app?

Nick Kelly: Turn on your notifications! It’s the easiest way to know when you receive an offer or counter-offer, helping you quickly jump in and react. It’s also a great way to find out about limited time promotions, like fee discounts or special sales events, like DealerFest.

Aris Vinsant: Having push notifications on is extremely important. As a buyer, you’ll be notified every time you’ve been outbid or countered. This enables quick decision-making and prevents missed deals.

What is your favorite feature of the OPENLANE app and why?

Aris Vinsant: My favorite feature is the high quality condition report. Every listing is complete with high resolution images and a detailed inspection report. Of course, our condition reports also contain OPENLANE unique innovations: Visual Boost AI™, Code Boost IQ, and Audio Boost AI to enable easy bidding decisions.

What’s an underused feature that you wish more users would know about?

Nick Kelly: I’d say the post-listing actions for sellers. Sellers rely on so much data that a second monitor is obviously important to their decision-making, but where I think people leave room for improvement is using the app to help them act faster when they know what they want to do. For example, got an offer that’s strong but not quite where you need it to be? It takes just a few taps of the phone and you’ve placed a counter. Got a notification of a strong offer above your floor? You can quickly jump in and launch Absolute Sales. So, it’s not really a feature per se, but more about using the features to help you move faster.

What’s the best way for a buyer to quickly find vehicles they’re looking for? 

Nick Kelly: With thousands of units listed daily, from high-mileage and scrap units to front-line-ready and commercial listings, filtering is crucial to narrow down your search. Once you’ve finalized your search, save it for easy access for your next login. If you need inventory ASAP, leverage the “Absolute Sale” and “Deals about to close” filters to find units that will be sold soon.

Aris Vinsant: The best way to quickly find vehicles is with a saved search! The OPENLANE app contains dozens of filters that can be saved and applied in 1-click using the saved search feature.
